This purpose-built grain storage facility was designed and constructed to serve the long-term cereal storage requirements of a large Yorkshire arable operation. The 800m² steel portal-framed building was erected on a reinforced concrete raft foundation, providing a robust and durable structure capable of withstanding the lateral pressures of bulk grain storage. Internal grain walling to 2.4m height provides segregated storage bays, while a purpose-designed ventilation system maintains optimal grain condition throughout the storage season. The concrete floor was specified to 150mm thickness with a power-float finish, capable of withstanding heavy agricultural machinery. External cladding in box-profile steel sheeting provides weather-tight protection, and roller-shutter access doors of 6m width accommodate the largest combine harvesters. The project was delivered during a tight winter window ahead of the following harvest season.
